  1. Jonathan, I think your idea is actually incredibly intuitive, combining your skills and applying them to a market that is constantly changing is amazing. In regards to your individual designs will you be excluding yourself to the major brands of the world because they are recognisable, I do understand it is a good idea to showcase your ability in an easy to digest way however for future goals for yourself can you localise your skills to local brands/shops, this can be both good for your local audience and gaining potential jobs from said brands/shops. Following this I believe Instagram is a great tool to showcase ability in a simple and easy to digest manner however will your ideas be placed on another platform for further viewing, hypothetically but if you were approached by a potential business this may be more beneficial to showcase ideas further in a more detailed medium (a down the track idea). Overall I believe your idea is one of the most applicable to future life I have seen as you have utilised a personal skill set that can transcend uni and into the workplace environment.

  2. Jon I am a fan of your work and I like the direction you’re going with this project. You’re absolutely correct with the future of branding. I see more brands stick with a minimalist approach to re-brand themselves to suit an audience while some brands hardly change at all like Amazon (due to the A-Z arrow concept). I’m linking you bootleg world on IG, because the concept of remixing and taking from one and adding to the new (like you mentioned in your pitch) can make a hilarious outcome. And as I’m sure, as a fellow AZN, we are no strangers to this. https://www.instagram.com/bootlegworld/?hl=en I’d love to see a fine line between a comedic approach while using design principals – but as a creative, I know how difficult that can be – just a thought! It’d be interesting to see what types of design concepts and typography choices make brands make the change!? Something I’m sure you’ll explore in this subjects DA.
It would be great for you to think about the choices that the companies you’re going to manipulate make. Say for example, Nestle and their controversy about stealing water and or using child slaves and follow this through to design something to show this. Protest art may not be your thing but It would definitely make an impact online.

  3. Great stuff Jon. I totally believe that less is more, especially in design, so it’s great that you’re going to explore the future of branding and design, and how we should go about it with your own design concepts.

I definitely would love to see your work on every possible social media that suits. You should check out Beeple (https://www.beeple-crap.com) – he’s been practicing design work for years now and has perfected his craft to design for famous DJ’s and musicians. It’s all royalty free, but he’s made a career out of it as he sells his work now. Maybe you could try and do frequent design templates and ideas that could be used? Maybe you’ll be able to work with companies yourself and show them how important every part of the design process is?

You can make a great impact with this bro. Keen to see the results!
